It is ok if people are vegetarians, but when they start to make up excuses that are then used, to try to persuade other people, with even a little bit of fear tacticts involved, to try and take advantage of the ignorant, then they are starting to go too far. You also would not expect someone to try to convince church people, without first putting together a good number of scriptures.
