Get yourself ready
You might have seen a hellfire preacher on the street or have watched videos of them on your computer and you will notice that they are quick to say that you are going to hell if you do not listen to what they are saying, but they will mostly forget to tell you that they are not the one who makes that decision. When we die, the time will have arrived for us to face our maker, but don't you find it a bit strange that the churches seem to be a bit quiet when it comes to describing what will happen on that day. In my studies of the Bible I always try to note carefully the things that God says when He is complaining about people and I have the feeling that He will be in a similar mood when judgement day arrives. There also seem to be a lot of people who think that they can blag their way past God on that day because you will hear a lot of so called Christians say that they love God, but if you open your Bible you will find a lot of things, that God has asked us to do, that they will not have been doing and you should then wonder how they are going to survive that day if God then opens His Bible and asks them the same question. You might wonder why I am saying that God will have a Bible, well you can read about the judgement scene in Revelation of John 20:11,12 where it says "And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works." and you notice here that it says that the "books" plural were opened and you would wonder why God would need more than one book, unless one of them was the Bible and note also that the book of life is yet another separate book.
Escaping judgement?
There are some people who seem to think that God does not exist and this then makes them think that there will not be a judgement day, but that their eyes will just close when their final day is over and that will be that, but you had better not listen to them because they are probably forgetting to tell you that you have a legacy from God in each of the cells in your body. People will tell you about evolution and the fact that we come from apes, but they will conveniently forget to mention that the DNA, that is a part of each cell that is in your body, does not support the process of Evolution because of how well God has engineered it. You can read more about this in my article titled "Advanced Engineering From God" where I explain about how we would not be able to survive if evolution is a process that could happen.
Some people might also think that they are going to have an easy time on judgement day, because their pastors have been drumming into their heads that God is a loving God, which is certainly true, but they will probably have conveniently forgotten to mention the fact that God has to give the angels, who are already in heaven, a good deal so He cannot allow any armchair Christians to enter.
God's judgement style
You can get a good idea for how God does His judgements in Leviticus 10:1-5 where it says "And Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, took either of them his censer, and put fire therein, and put incense thereon, and offered strange fire before the LORD, which he commanded them not. And there went out fire from the LORD, and devoured them, and they died before the LORD. Then Moses said unto Aaron, This is it that the LORD spake, saying, I will be sanctified in them that come nigh me, and before all the people I will be glorified. And Aaron held his peace. And Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said unto them, Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp. So they went near, and carried them in their coats out of the camp; as Moses had said." and we see here the instant judgement that was given out to Aaron's sons when they disobeyed the commandment of God. Another judgement is in II Samuel 12:8-12 where it says "And I gave thee thy master's house, and thy master's wives into thy bosom, and gave thee the house of Israel and of Judah; and if that had been too little, I would moreover have given unto thee such and such things. Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife to be thy wife, and hast slain him with the sword of the children of Ammon. Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house; because thou hast despised me, and hast taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be thy wife. Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will raise up evil against thee out of thine own house, and I will take thy wives before thine eyes, and give them unto thy neighbour, and he shall lie with thy wives in the sight of this sun. For thou didst it secretly: but I will do this thing before all Israel, and before the sun." and you should note here that God says that David had despised Him, which shows how unhappy God can get when people decide to ignore His commandments and take them lightly. Now the cleverer people might try to say to you that God is a lot more friendly in the New Testament, but we can see that this is not the case by looking in Acts 5:1-6 where it says "But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles' feet. But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land? Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God. And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things. And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him." and we see here that God is still giving out His usual style of judgement and I have a feeling that we are in for the same thing on judgement day as well. If we finally read Revelation of John 16:4-7 where it says "And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood. And I heard the angel of the waters say, Thou art righteous, O Lord, which art, and wast, and shalt be, because thou hast judged thus. For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy. And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true and righteous are thy judgments." we can see that God will still be giving out the same Old Testament style judgements even at the end of the world, so we can't expect it to be any different on Judgement Day.
Our judgement style
You might also hear some people say that the followers of Christ are not allowed to judge other people, but this is not the case because they can judge other people who say they are followers of Christ as we can read of in 1 Corinthians 5:11-13 where it says "But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person." and we see here that wrongdoers in the church cannot expect to escape judgement even in this life. God also expects us to take the judgements that we make seriously as we can see in 1 Corinthians 6:1-6 where it says "Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers." and we see here that God expects us to become experts so that we can do the job that we will be given if we manage to make it to His kingdom.
Judgement training
I get the feeling that a lot of people mistakenly think that we cannot judge at the same level as God because of the difference between us, but they do not realise that we have to be able to judge ourselves, at the same level as God, because if we can't then we do not stand any chance on Judgement Day. This means that we must have quite a high level of judgement built into us by God and that there must be something that is stopping us from using it, but there must be a way of us realising our judgement potential. I have a feeling that it is related to our studying of the Bible which will then allow us to learn from how God's servants have given out their judgements on themselves and also on other people who say they are followers of God. You have to also wonder why the modern church does not have this as a high priority, because surviving Judgement Day should obviously be something that is taken very seriously, but it seems as if they prefer that we do not get any training for surviving that day so that their master will be satisfied. Jesus tells us who their master is in John 8:42-47 where it says "Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it. And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me? He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God." and as Jesus says we can tell when a church is not of God because they will not hear, therefore not have any interest in, God's word and will avoid telling people about the dangerous times that are on the horizon.
A darkness worth avoiding
There is one final thing that you might not have heard mentioned before and that is what it is going to be like on that day. We have already seen that there will be a great white throne that God will sit on and we also know that the heavens and the earth will have fled away from His face, so where will the resurrected people be standing? We can maybe get a clue by looking at the end of a parable like in Matthew 22:11-14 where it says "And when the king came in to see the guests, he saw there a man which had not on a wedding garment: And he saith unto him, Friend, how camest thou in hither not having a wedding garment? And he was speechless. Then said the king to the servants, Bind him hand and foot, and take him away, and cast him into outer darkness; there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. For many are called, but few are chosen." and also at the end of a non parable in Matthew 8:11,12 where it says "And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth." and this shows us that there might be a region of outer darkness where people are weeping and gnashing their teeth. When I speak to people, who seem to dislike God and His commandments, they always seem to have a confidence in their disbelief as if they are always going to be fine. I get the impression they are like this because they are confident in how well their bodies function and they are also confident that the heavens and the earth will be there when they wake up each day. When this reality is finally removed, I have the feeling that they will finally realise the true stupidity of what they have done and that the confidence, that they have now, will be replaced by humility when they realise that the heavens and the earth are no more and that God is now their only reality on Judgement Day. This will then cause them to weep and gnash their teeth because they will finally realise that the God who is in front of them, that they had been talking against during their life, is now the only one who can save them from their current position and final destruction. Another thing that you have to realise is that everyone who has ever lived will be there, including all of the chief villains, so you can imagine that the outer darkness region will be of untold size and God will obviously have a way of giving His judgement out to everyone that is there.
So, what will you be doing on that dreadful day? Will you be relaxing in the light of God while waiting to receive your deserved treasure? Or will you be weeping and gnashing your teeth in the brief time that you have before God carries out His final judgement on you? Get yourself prepared, for this great and glorious day, because the only chance you will have of surviving it is if you believe in and do God's will now, while you are still alive, and then to go about convincing other people of the same thing.
