Narrated Sahl bin Sa`d: There was a woman amongst us who had a farm and she used to sow Silq (a kind of vegetable) on the edges of streams in her farm. On Fridays she used to pull out the Silq from its roots and put the roots in a utensil. Then she would put a handful of powdered barley over it and cook it. Below is a description of how the dairy industry is in Saudi Arabia and they are going to some extreme lengths , in order for their cows to be able to produce any milk. It takes a huge amount of water to produce milk, which shows that the cattle that were mentioned in the below hadiths, must have been living near to some streams further up north, or they would have just dried up in the Arabian desert.
