Can you get to heaven if you like watching television?

A fake pastors best friend

If you go to church then this is probably something that you would never hear a preacher talk against, but even if they do, then they will probably give it a quick mention and then continue on with their feel good sermon. Church pastors obviously realise that the vast majority of their paying customers are television watchers, which then makes them fearful of offending these people, which would then lead to a drop in their profits. There are also a lot of churches that use television to generate their revenue, so they will be reluctant to attack one of their avenues of profit. When you go into the average church, it is obvious that they are willing to compromise the word of God, in their battle to get people into their building, this then means that they have to try to provide an experience, that rivals the entertainment industry, which of course then means that the word of God has to be pushed to the side.

Stopping God's word

Most people do not seem to have noticed that God seems to only communicate with us through speaking and writing, which means that there is a lack of visual communications. Eighty percent of our brains processing capacity is used by our visual centres, which means that we are more excited by what we see visually, rather than what we hear or read. This almost seems like a test by God to see if we are willing to control our minds, so that His words can have more of an effect on us, rather than not controlling our minds and just seeking after visual pleasures, which God is not interested in providing. This obviously means that God will not use television as a medium for his word, because it excites the brain to an extent that makes it harder to meditate on them. It should also be obvious that when you read God's word in a book, or on a computer, it is easy to read over what has been read, or to jump to other references, while television is just a linear experience where your brain does not get a chance to do any secondary processing, so the television watcher can never improve their scripture searching skills. When I have questioned some church members, about various subjects in the Bible, I have noticed that they do seem to have a problem knowing were to find verses related to various subjects. The vast majority of them are people who watch television, but when I mention the fact to some of them, they are quick to say that they do not think it is having an effect. This is certainly a big problem because it seems as if peoples brains have been longing for something like television, so they are quick to defend their watching of it, almost as if it has certain addictive qualities.

Controller of our lives

I am actually using my own experience with television programs as a reason for battling against the watching of them, I would not even be writing this article unless some previous research had been done beforehand. I used to download programs from BBC iPlayer and found that there always seemed to be something in each of the programs that would annoy me, this seemed to be related to the fact that I was already a bit of the way into my Bible studies before I was baptised. I had just finished reading my Bible and noticed that I was feeling good after seeing how God had again given His true followers the victory, I then started to watch one of the regular programs that I had downloaded when, to my surprise, I noticed that the good feeling had disappeared as soon as the characters on the screen had started talking. This seems to be related to the fact that my brain had changed into a linear mode, which must involve the disconnection of some of the more advanced sections of it, which then seems to have also removed the good feeling at the same time. This is why asking about television viewing has been something that I have recently been speaking to people about and I try to inform them that it is a bad idea if they want to know God and His word properly. I believe that television watching is one of the major causes of division in the church, because it stops people from being able to properly understand what God expects of us in our daily lives. It seems to be the case that our churches are full of people who are basically taught by the television, with its various random useless doctrines, which they then mistakenly try to apply to God's word in the Bible. This then leads to the thousands of denominations that we have today who basically read the same Bible, but have been overly influenced by the visual centres of their brain into following the imaginations of their heart.

What do the scientists think?

Just to show that I am not the only one who is concerned about this growing cancer, here are some links to studies that have been done by scientists. Here is a study about some older people:

http://url.itgwf.org/stoptvoldpeople

this shows that you had better drag your elderly relatives from in front of the television if you want them to have a good retirement.
If you want to help stop your older relatives from getting Alzheimer's, then show them this link:

then drag them from in front of the box of doom.
If you finally want to save your children from failing at school, then maybe ending up homeless when the billionaires have finished enslaving the world, then show them this link:

then teach them the errors of their doom box watching ways.

Would God be against television?

I also feel that Jesus the Christ would give the same advice as the scientists, we can see why by reading Mark 12:28-34 where it says "And one of the scribes came, and having heard them reasoning together, and perceiving that he had answered them well, asked him, Which is the first commandment of all? And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord: And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these. And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he: And to love him with all the heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbour as himself, is more than all whole burnt offerings and sacrifices. And when Jesus saw that he answered discreetly, he said unto him, Thou art not far from the kingdom of God. And no man after that durst ask him any question." and you should then ask yourself if you are loving God with all of your heart soul and mind, when you are allowing the television to wipe the effect of His words from your mind. Another thing that we know about television is the fact that it encourages you to be friends with people who love the things of this world, but we can see that this is a bad thing by reading James 4:4-10 which says "Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Do ye think that the scripture saith in vain, The spirit that dwelleth in us lusteth to envy? But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble. Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded. Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up." and we see here that James is talking about behaviours that are the opposite of what television encourages, which would then make you an enemy of God, if you follow after them, which of course will happen if you continue with watching your television. Another thing that should be obvious about television is that it promotes people who are unrighteous, while not having anything on it that is related to the righteousness of God. The Apostle Paul gives us a good description of the things that are glorified on television in Romans 1:28-32 which says "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them." and we see at the end that Paul says that even the people who have pleasure in the ones who commit these deeds, are worthy of death, so you would also be in this category if you like watching television. King David also understands how the things that you watch can have a bad effect on you, because of what he wrote in Psalms 101:3 which says "I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me." and we know that there are programs on television that promote things like lying, adultry, covetousness, fornication and breaking the Sabbath, so a watcher of television will be setting these wicked things before their eyes.

Television masters of doom

What you have read above should also make it obvious that watching television is not something that God can sanction, because He would obviously know that it increases your chances of having brain health problems and that it harms the education of our children, while also filling peoples heads with the deeds of the wicked. This means that the idea of enjoying watching television must have originated from the rulers of the darkness of this world, because they are the only ones who seem to benefit from what is happening to people as they continue to watch the box of doom.
